China get ready for war

Chinese President Xi Jinping inspected a missile brigade of the People’s Liberation Army this week, urging his troops to enhance their "deterrence and combat capabilities." This visit comes amid the latest military exercises around Taiwan, which authorities have viewed as another provocative move by the People's Republic of China.

Meanwhile, Zhang Youxia, Vice Chairman of China's top military body, met with Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov, highlighting that bilateral relations between China and Russia had reached "their highest historical level." Zhang expressed China's intention to "continue working" closely with Russia.

The Russian defense minister was in China on an official visit, with the war in Ukraine being a key topic of discussion. This visit precedes Chinese President Xi Jinping's upcoming trip to Russia, where he will attend the BRICS summit this weekend.

Zhang emphasized that these developments have unfolded under the "strategic guidance" of Xi and Russian President Vladimir Putin. He added that relations between the two nations "continue to develop in a healthy and stable manner," according to a statement from China's military ministry.
